Nastec SUMMAG 4" PM Submersible Motors
A new generation of high-efficiency 4" bore motors from Nastec. SUMMAG uses permanent magnet technology to deliver more power in a smaller, lighter motor that stays efficient even at part load.
Why choose SUMMAG
Higher efficiency
A permanent magnet synchronous motor runs more efficiently than a standard induction motor, especially at part load, which means lower running costs.
Around half the size and weight
Roughly 50% smaller and lighter than a comparable motor, so it is easier to transport, handle and install down the bore.
Sand resistant seal
A silicon carbide mechanical seal comes standard on every model. It stands up to sand and can be replaced when worn.
Fits standard 4" pumps
NEMA 4" flange and splined shaft, so it fits standard 4" pump ends, including the ST-4 range.
Built to last
Stator encapsulated in resin inside a stainless steel shell, AISI 304 flanges, a Kingsbury-type thrust bearing and silicon carbide radial bearings.
Drinking water safe cable
Removable lead connector with a cable certified for drinking water, plus a rubber diaphragm for pressure compensation.
Pair it with a Nastec drive
Like all permanent magnet motors, SUMMAG runs from a variable speed drive rather than straight off the mains. On grid power, the Nastec MIDA or VASCO drives control it with sensorless field oriented control, giving you soft starts, constant pressure and full protection.
On solar, the same motor runs from the VASCO Solar, so SUMMAG suits grid, solar and hybrid systems alike.
